(EXCLUSIVE) ‘The Preachers’ Host Jamal Bryant Says Baby Mama Violated Agreement By Exposing Net Worth & Assets
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, The Preachers host Jamal Bryant has returned to court accusing his baby mama of violating a confidentiality agreement in their legal battle – over child support for their newborn son – with the pastor saying the woman revealed his income, assets and other financial information in the case despite her promise to keep it sealed.
Here’s the latest: On August 9th, Jamal returned to court accusing his baby mama of violating a confidential agreement they reached in the case. The pastor explains that they both agreed to a protective order in regards to the discovery phase of the suit – where they both exchange confidential documents and information before the case goes before the judge – with the baby mama allegedly publicly filing his income, assets and other confidential documents in the case.
Bryant says that his baby mama didn’t follow their agreement and he fears his private financial information will be out there for the world to see now. He is pleading for the judge to order LaToya to fix the issue ASAP by sealing the documents and for her to pay his legal bills for having to file this motion.
Here’s the backstory: Earlier this year, a Georgia woman, LaToya Odom, filed a paternity and child support lawsuit against the pastor demanding the court order him to start cutting her support checks ASAP.
LaToya said the pastor is the father to her son born in 2015 named John Karston Bryant. She filed suit seeking primary physical and legal custody of their child, saying the kid has lived with her since birth.
The woman also seeks temporary and permanent child support from Bryant and wants the judge to order him to pay monthly support while the case is pending.
According to her, Bryant already took a DNA test and it came back he was indeed the father. She claims the pastor has made voluntary child support payments since their son’s birth. LaToya also wanted him to pay her attorney fees.
Bryant responded, admitting he was the father and did make child support payments with the intention of amicably resolving all issues over their son.
However, he claimed that he ceased all contact with LaToya and stopped paying support due to her continued harassment and his desire to have the court decide on the matter. Bryant says he accepts all legal responsibility of his child.
He also asked the court to deny his baby mama and she pay her own attorney fees.
LaToya recently returned to court pleading for the judge to award her temporary child support. She says as an author she makes a modest income and is currently paying all of the child’s expenses including daily living expenses, child care and healthcare related expenses
The woman said she is without the financial resources like Bryant, who is the founder of a Baltimore-area mega-church with more than 10,000 members and leads a flashy affluent lifestyle and is a wealthy man, reportedly having a multimillion dollar net worth.
She pointed out Bryant has multiple sources of income including book sales, television appearances, personal appearances and podcasts. She accuses him of living a flashy lifestyle when she – who shoulders all parenting responsibilities for the child. She says that she is a single mother who lives frugally. LaToya adds that she doesn’t make much and has considerable debt from student loans.
