Nate Parker Accused of Exposing Himself
Nate Parker is making headlines again, and unfortunately it’s surrounding his past, not his latest film The Birth of A Nation.
Back in 2000, while standing trial for rape, the actor was accused of exposing himself to a female athletic trainer.
The information was revealed while a probe was being conducted into how Penn State handled serial child molester and football coach Jerry Sandusky. Apparently, they unearthed the incident involving Parker who was a former student wrestler, in attempts to prove institutional leniency with sexual offenses.
As previously reported, Parker was charged and later acquitted of rape while attending Penn State 17 years ago. Reportedly, he faced a brief suspension from the wrestling team when charges were filed but was quickly reinstated. The report said that while facing trial, he “exposed himself” to a woman on campus. Parker denies the incident occurred.
Parker’s attorney David J. Matlof stated,
This is the first Mr. Parker has ever heard of this. He recognizes the seriousness of the issue, but this claim is completely untrue.
During a routine back treatment, Parker allegedly told the trainer he “wanted to show her something,” according to a separate report. He then pulled his pants down and “exposed the top half of his penis“. A lawyer for Parker called that account,
completely untrue.
The woman in question declined to take the matter to police. The issue was dropped.
