Shonda Rhimes Launches Lifestyle Web Site
Shonda Rhimes is launching a new lifestyle web site. The producer, director and content creator revealed the news on social media, writing:
You are never alone in #Shondaland. It’s where all the badasses live. The ones who stand up for themselves. The ones who do what they want and say what they want and dance how they want and wear what they want. And you don’t give a crap what anyone else has to say about it. Shondaland is for the warrior in all of us. Shondaland is for the mighty, the competitive, the smart, the daring, and the bold. Add your voice. Join the tribe.
The site will serve as a digital storytelling platform, with content including politics, health, style, pop culture, and other issues women care about. Reportedly, the site will go live Fall 2017 in tandem with the return of Rhimes’ ABC shows. You can sign up for the upcoming Shondaland newsletter at shondaland.com.
Shonda is best known as the creator, head writer, executive producer, and showrunner of the television medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, its spin-off Private Practice, and the political thriller series Scandal, all of which have aired on ABC. Rhimes has also served as the executive producer of the ABC television series Off the Map, How to Get Away with Murder, and The Catch.
