Serena Williams Responds To Racist Remark

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has launched an investigation into Romania’s Fed Cup captain Ilie Nastase after the former world number one allegedly made a derogatory comment about Serena Williams’ unborn child.

Last Friday, at the Fed Cup draw in Constanta, Nastase, 70, was heard speaking in Romanian to one of his team members about Williams’ baby. He was quoted as saying,

Let’s see what color it has. Chocolate with milk?

Serena, who is expecting her first child with her fiancé, Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, posted a statement on social media addressing Nastase’s comments. Check it out below.

The ITF has issued a provisional suspension of Nastase.
