Speedy & Meeka Claxton Officially Divorced

theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, former NBA star Speedy Claxton and his now ex-wife, Meeka Claxton are officially over. After battling in court for nearly three years, the former professional athlete and ex Basketball Wives:Miami star are officially divorced.

Here’s the latest: On June 14th, the case went to trial in New York Court and the judge finally closed the divorce, making both officially single. Speedy and Meeka’s divorce is finally closed following close to three years in court. The details of the settlement will remain confidential.

The last couple years have been rough for both Meeka and Speedy. Speedy lost his New York home in a foreclosure lawsuit due to him defaulting on a $540k mortgage loan. Meeka was arrested for DWI
in 2014 and earlier this year, a judge ordered her to surrender the 2008 Range Rover she was driving when allegedly intoxicated.

Here’s the backstory: The former couple announced they were separating in 2014. At the time, the former reality star released a statement saying,

I love Craig (aka Speedy) and our family more than anything. 

They had been married for over 16 years and share two kids together.

Meeka filed for divorce in New York court five months after she announced their split. However, the divorce hadn’t been a smooth ride for the exes with both fighting nasty back and forth.

Last year, Speedy headed back to divorce court and filed a motion to punish Meeka for contempt of the court order. He accused his ex of violating the court order in the divorce and wanted the judge to
punish her for breaking the rules.

Meeka, then went to court in their divorce and filed a motion for Pendente Lite Relief (aka temporary support) until a resolution in the divorce was reached or a decision on the amount of child support or
spousal support Speedy would be ordered to pay to his soon-to-be ex-wife.
