The rapper, DJ and producer accused them of negligence and screwing up the project for over a year and a jury came back with a verdict in his favor.
Here’s the latest: On June 15th, the jury came back with its verdict and sided with Lil Jon. They found the defendants – BLW Homes – liable for breach of contract, negligence, negligent hiring, supervision and inspection, along with negligent misrepresentation and fraudulent misrepresentation.
The jury found BLW homes liable in the amount of $187,690.08 + attorney fees and court costs totaling $213,366.77 for a grand total of $401,056.85.
Further, the jury found BLW Homes liable for punitive damages in the amount of $100k on top of the $401k for a total judgement of $501,056.85.
Here’s the backstory: Back in 2016, Lil Jon and his wife Nicole sued BLW Homes accusing them of screwing them out of money over their home remodel.
The rapper/DJ explained he entered into a deal with BLW Homes in 2014 for them to act as general contractor for their home renovation to his Milton, Georgia mansion. The total cost of the project was to be $246,997.
At the time of the lawsuit being filed, Lil Jon claimed the company still had failed to complete the work, which was 19 months after they began construction. He said he already paid them $201k and the project wasn’t even close to being finished.
