50 Cent Says Jay Z’s Album Is “Too Smart”
Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson is the latest celebrity to chime in on Jay-Z’s new album, 4:44. The rapper turned actor slightly criticized the project, noting that it was a bit too intellectual. He explains,
I listened to Jay’s sh*t, that 4:44. I thought the sh*t was aight, you know what I’m sayin’? I liked the sh*t. But Imnma keep it 100 — The sh*t was a little, the sh*t was too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing glasses and sh*t, and tie a f*cking sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League sh*t.
He continued,
I ain’t gon’ hold you up. Some of that s— was like golf course music. Imma tell you the truth: N*ggas hot out here. They don’t wanna hear that sh*t. They just wanna have a good time. F*ck that. You can’t be the best rapper at 47, because the new n*ggas is here.
As previously reported, “4:44” has gained platinum status.
Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) CEO shared the news on social media writing:
Props to JAY, he’s done it again! 4:44 Certified Platinum. Another Platinum album adds to an already iconic career. @RocNation #444
In another post, the organization added,
4:44 Goes Platinum – JAY-Z’s 13 Platinum (or higher) solo studio Album Awards are more than any other hip hop artist.
