‘Real Housewives of NY’ Wants To Add A Black Cast Member
BRAVO wants to bring more diversity to one of it’s hit shows. Reportedly, there are plans to add a minority cast member to “The Real Housewives of New York City”. An insider claims,
After nine seasons, the show’s been very white, and in the most diverse, melting pot of a city. They just shot the reunion — so now is the time [that] they start really looking at what they’ll do with the next cast.
Another source adds,
New York is such a diverse city. The show should definitely reflect that.
Reality star Bethenny Frankel, who has starred on RHONY for multiple seasons, agreed that she’d like to add a woman of color to the cast.
I would like to see some younger cast members. I’d like to see an African-American woman on the show. I suggested someone who didn’t work out. There are really no Jewish women in the cast. There are also no Asian, Latino or gay women on the show. I’d like it to represent New York more.
In Season 8, the show added Jules Wainstein. She has since left the show. Who should the show consider adding to diversify the cast?
