Damon Wayans Jr To Star In CBS Comedy
Damon Wayans Jr. will star in a new CBS multi-camera comedy pilot from writers Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl and Ben Winston.
If the pilot goes to series, the famous Wayans family member is rumored to receive a two-year first-look producing deal with CBS TV Studios.
The comedy, which does not yet have a title, revolves around Peter (Wayans) and Claire, a thirtysomething couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star, who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in.Wayans plays a good guy with a sense of humor, happily married to his dream wife, Claire. He is an accountant and business manager for Cooper, the young superstar musician who comes to live with them.
Damon is an actor, writer and stand-up comedian, most widely known for starring as Brad Williams in the ABC sitcom Happy Endings and as Coach in the Fox sitcom New Girl. In 2014, he starred in the comedy film Let’s Be Cops and provided the voice of Wasabi in Big Hero 6. He is the oldest son of actor-comedian Damon Wayans and nephew of Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Kim Wayans and Marlon Wayans.
