EXCLUSIVE: ‘Star’ Actress Ryan Destiny Accuses Ex Managers of Violating the Law – I Don’t Owe You Money!
theJasmineBRAND exclusively reports, Ryan Destiny is responding to a lawsuit that her former managers have served her with.
Ryan currently stars on the Lee Daniels musical drama series Star. She plays the character of Alexandra Crane.
In 2017, Ryan was sued over unpaid commissions by Primary Wave Entertainment. The management company says that they represented her before she landed a lead role on Star and she was financially obligated to pay them their 10% commission.
However, they claim that they were never paid and they accuse Ryan of breaching their deal. This month, Ryan filed a petition with the California Labor Commission. Her legal team claims that Primary Wave was acting as an unlicensed talent agent and because of this, should not entitled to commissions. She’s attempting to hault the lawsuit and await CA Labor Commission’s decision.
