Andy Cohen Says He Misspoke About RHOA’s Kim Zolciak – I Should Have Not Said She Was Ganged Up On.
Andy Cohen made headlines earlier this week for his comments on The Jenny McCarthy Show. He confessed he felt Kim Zolciak-Biermann was ganged up on by her other cast members, and he wished he would have walked off the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion when he lost control of the room. Since then, he has retracted on his statements, and provided clarity to what he actually meant to say.
Outside of Housewives drama, the super-executive producer has been on tour for the past three years with Anderson Cooper and working on the second season of his show, Love Connection, which premieres on FOX next week. During a recent interview, he mentions Porsha Williams will be making an appearance on Love Connection, his work with Anderson Cooper, his thoughts on Zolciak-Biermann stating “racism isn’t real” and if Phadrea Parks would be returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta. See the excerpts below.
What he meant by his comments about Zolciak-Biermann being ganged up on:
I misspoke. I should have not said she was ganged up on. I was frustrated by the tenure of the reunion. What I was most frustrated in was myself, and that’s what I was trying to say. When I said I wanted to walk off, it was because I didn’t have control over the room.
His thoughts on Kim:
Kim was not a victim in this. They were trying to hold her accountable, and she was piss-poor for taking any accountability over anything. The conversation was going around in a circle.
He continues:
The other thing that was really frustrating was that she kept saying she didn’t’ say that. And I’m like, ‘Yeah, you did.’ It was really going absolutely nowhere, and it wasn’t going anywhere for two hours.
Kim’s comments towards “racism isn’t real”:
I think she has a hard time seeing the nuance in her words. Which has happened, by the way, for ten years on the show. We’ve shown clips of her [Kim] referring to things – in early seasons – that the women were pissed at her about that had overtones. I know she has a real friendship with Sheree. I know she had a real friendship with Kandi. And I’m interested in what the two of them really feel where she stands.
He continues:
This is someone I told her at the reunion, she did not express herself well. And what I think she was saying was, in an era of social media something that you say can be blown up and made bigger. That’s what I think she meant.
Charlamagne Tha God calling Kim mayonnaise:
Mayonnaise is gross. I think it’s a really good insult for a white person you’re pissed at.
If Kim will return to the series:
I think Kim will never be back. And by the way, I stand by what I said to Kim on camera; she had a very negative season. It was all negative.
If Phadrea Parks is coming back to the Real Housewives of Atlanta:
You never know.
His thoughts on Taylor Swift covering Earth, Wind, & Fire’s song “September”
Okay, it wasn’t a great cover. Does that mean she shouldn’t have covered the song? She kinda turned into a b-side country song.
His beef with Kathy Griffin:
She’s been making up shit about me for the last few months. She has beef with me. She reminds me of Trump. She just makes shit up constantly.
Enjoying edibles:
You have to find the one with exact dose. I have these ones that are 10 MG. I absolutely love it. It wasn’t a guarantee I wasn’t going to eat that.
Why he would never go on TV high:
I never go on TV and smoke. I get so many tweets all the time from people, ‘Oh, he’s high.’ I’ve never once, nor would I ever go on TV high. I made the mistake of doing it at a Cardinal game, and they brought me in the booth – I had forgotten they were going to bring me in – and I had an edible at the beginning of the game, and it was not my best performance.
If the Housewives would be expanding:
No. I think we’re good. We have seven.
If Anderson Cooper smokes weed:
He’s not a pot smoker. He does not smoke weed. He’s cool.
