Viola Davis Stars In Steve McQueen Thriller “Widows”
The trailer for the film “Widows” will definitely have you at the edge of your seat with Viola Davis playing a robbery crew leader. The new movie directed by Academy Award winner, Steve McQueen, stars Oscar winner Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo. The cast also includes Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, and Brian Tyree Henry.
“Widows”, was co-written by “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn, based in Chicago, is the story of four women who have nothing in common except a debt that is left behind by their deceased husbands criminal activities. Centered around turmoil, tensions build when the four women take fate into their own hands and come up with a plot to form a a future on their own terms. Davis’ character says in the clip,
Something happened tonight. Something bad. Our husbands aren’t coming back. We’re on our own. They stole a lot of money, and now people want it from us. Now, the best thing we have going for us is being who we are. Because no one thinks we have the balls to pull this off.
The movie was adapted from a 1980s British TV series and set to hit theaters on November 16th.From the looks of it, “Widows” is going to be an action packed thriller. Especially with the amazing cast of actors involved in this project.
