Alice Marie Johnson Admits – I Had Never Heard Of Kim Kardashian Before She Helped Me
Alice Marie Johnson Didn’t Know Who Kim Kardashian Was
Just a week after Alice Marie Johnson’s release, she and Kim Kardashian West sat down with The Today show for an exclusive and emotional interview. This was their first face-to-face meeting since Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump about commuting Johnson’s sentence. Alice, 63, served 21 years at Alabama’s FCI Aliceville for non-violent drug possession and money laundering charges.
In October, Kardashian West, 37, used her influence to tweet about Alice’s case to her 60 million followers posting,

Kim detailed to Today show co-shost Hoda Kotb how she helped with Alice’s release explaining,
Because I knew that I had the resources to do that. It became this mission that I just didn’t want to give up. I mean, I think to some people it might seem like, ‘Okay, Kim made a phone call to the president, showed up.’ We had been in talks and working on this for seven months. And it wasn’t an instant thing. It was a lot of work.”
Alice revealed that when Kim revealed the news of her release over the phone, she caught the “Holy Ghost.” She said,
When she said that, I went into full-fledged Pentecostal holy dance…I started screaming and jumping.
Prior to their phone conversation about their release, Johnson admitted that she had no idea who the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was saying,
As soon as I found out who she was, I started getting every magazine I could find. I started reading everything that I could about her. And everyone was amazed. And I was amazed, too.
The two seem to be becoming fast friends. Kim posted a video of herself with Alice, showing her the ropes of using Snapchat filters.
Sweet!
