Stephanie Mills Trashes Sam Smith For Shading Michael Jackson: Sit Your 1 Hit Wonder A** Down!
There’s no place like home, and veteran singer Stephanie Mills drug singer Sam Smith all the way home and back over his recent comments on late icon Michael Jackson.
American Idol star Adam Lambert and the British superstar Sam Smith were boating together this weekend. Adam posted an Instagram video where Sam can be heard in the background saying:
“I don’t like Michael Jackson, but this is a good song”

And, this, ladies and gentlemen, is when “The Wiz’s” original Dorothy, Stephanie Mills, became upset. She clapped back at Sam for his comments, and in typical veteran-aged fashion, accidentally tagged a fan page instead of Sam’s actual Instagram account. Ha! She said:
“@iamstephaniemills @Samsmithsworld Don’t come for MICHAEL JACKSON when you wish you have sold as many records and you wish you were the King of Pop like he was. I’m so tired of you people studying our music, and studying our artist and claiming that you don’t like our music. Go sit your 1 HIT WONDER ass down and learn how to finish a tour. When you can sell as many records as the king of Pop, Michael Jackson then maybe you can say something. So I say to you Mr. Smith have several seats and come for me if you want to.”
Oop! Stephanie is referring to the theory that Caucasian singers with soulful voices that sing R&B-tinged music rarely give the proper credit to the Black artists that have inspired them. Luckily, this isn’t the case with British singer Adele. Many feel that Beyoncé was snubbed at the 2017 Grammy Awards when Adele’s “25” won Album of the Year over “Lemonade.” She immediately paid homage to her idol, Beyoncé. Watch Adele’s tearful tribute below:
So far, Sam Smith has yet to “come for her” as Stephanie Mills dared him.
