Former Insecure Star Jay Ellis Cast In ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
He’s missing in action on this season of Insecure, but Jay Ellis is still working in Hollywood. The 36-year-old actor has reportedly been cast in Paramount Pictures’ Top Gun: Maverick.
He joins Thomasin McKenzie, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Danny Ramirez, and Monica Barbaro – opposite Tom Cruise (who stars in the film), Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller.
Ellis will play a pilot. The film is a sequel to Top Gun and is directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Ellis starred alongside Issa Rae in HBO’s Insecure, which premiered in 2016. He also co-starred this year in the film, In A Relationship.
