Love is in the air! “Today Show” weatherman, Al Roker, and ABC News reporter, Deborah Roberts, are celebrating their 23rd wedding anniversary! The couple recently exchanged sweet anniversary messages on social media, starting with a photo from their wedding reception. Deborah tweeted:
“Happy anniversary to my “been there -done that” partner. 23 years. Where does the time go?! @alroker”
Al replied, saluting his wife.
“23 years later, people still realize how I married up”
Al and Deborah have always been transparent about the struggles of their love story. They discussed how they made it work while working for rival networks, co-parenting Al’s daughters from his previous marriage, and parenting their own children in their book, “Been There, Done That: Family Wisdom for Modern Times.” In a 2016 Good Morning America interview, Deborah said:
“We don’t like the same foods, we don’t really like a lot of the same music, we don’t like a lot of the same theater events – but we love each other very much and we have a deep and abiding respect and feeling for family. I think that’s what grounds us.”
Despite them being married 23 years, many people revealed they had no idea they were married! A few of our readers took to the comment section, including Tionna Smalls, former star of “What Chili Wants.” She said:
“Wow I never knew they were married!”
Instagram user @m1sstee23 echoed the same sentiments:
“Wow!! I had no idea she was his wife”
@chantel_with_ac2 revealed how old she was when she realized Al Roker and Deborah Roberts were a couple:
“I’m today years old cuz I had no idea”
Ha!
Los Angeles Laker Lebron James, and his high school sweetheart Savannah also recently celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. Lebron arranged for R&B crooner Daniel Caesar to come to their home and serenade Savannah with his beautiful song, “Best Part.” Isn’t that sweet?
Happy anniversary to the Roker and James families!
