Will Smith Announces He Will Play The Genie In Aladdin Reboot
Will Smith recently announced some exciting news for Disney fans. The actor, who just celebrated 50, shared on Instagram Wednesday the promo for a reboot of the Disney classic, “Aladdin.” The movie which is set to release in theaters next May will star Smith as the genie, Mena Massoud will play Aladdin, and Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine. The multi-talented actor shared the image of a genie bottle with the words written below it reading “Choose Wisely,” attaching the caption,
LEMME OUT!! ? Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! :-) #aladdin

Unlike the original film, which was animated and released in 1992, this new remake will be live action. Guy Ritchie will be directing, with Vanessa Taylor and John August as co-writers for the script.
The official slated date of release is May 24, 2019.
