Lil Rel Calls Out Tracy Morgan – “I Didn’t Like The Way He Was Treating Tiffany Haddish”
Lil Rel Talks Tracy Morgan – “I Didn’t Like The Way He Was Treating Tiffany Haddish”
Lil Rel Howery and Tiffany Haddish are great friends. The two worked together on three seasons of The Carmichael Show, where they played a loving yet feuding divorced couple. Their bond has remained strong ever since the show’s cancellation in 2017. They also reconnected when they starred opposite each other in the 2018 film Uncle Drew.
Earlier this year, veteran comedian Tracy Morgan was promoting his new show Last OG when he was asked about his co-star Tiffany Haddish and visibly became angry. Morgan was asked how it has been watching Tiffany Haddish blow up. He answered,
Tiffany is not the only one.. this is not Tiffany Haddish’s show… This is Tracy Morgan… This is The Last O.G… If you’re going to ask about Tiffany… ask that about Cedric… ask that about craft services… everybody that comes to work on that show… we’re not going to go there.
Lil Rel caught wind of Morgan’s interview and had a few things to say on Twitter. He posted the video and added,
This is one hating ass dude right here that show would be nothing if @TiffanyHaddish wasn’t on it… Don’t bite the hand that keeps you relevant!!!
Months later, Lil Rel sat down with TV One’s Uncensored where he was asked about his relationship with Tracy Morgan since then. Rel explained,
I don’t have a beef with Tracy Morgan but I didn’t like the way he was treating my sister [Tiffany Haddish]. I told her, ‘If he do something else, I’m gonna say something’ and we look at the interview and it’s like wow, just how angry he got as soon as he mentioned her name. That arrogance of not being able to praise this beautiful, talented black woman was disgusting.
Immediately following Morgan’s comments, Tiffany Haddish tried to diffuse the situation. In an interview, she says that it’s very understandable that he would be tired of hearing her name.
You guys, chill. He’s probably just tired of hearing my name. It’s exhausting. I’m tired of hearing my name. I could see how that could be irritating, like, ‘Hello, I died, people. I’m back from the dead. Tiffany’s cool, but it’s me sitting here now.’ So, I get it, I’m not mad about it, I love me some Tracy.
Tracy Morgan has yet to respond to Lil Rel’s comments.
