Robert De Niro Confirms Split From Wife

Robert De Niro is confirming reports that he and his wife, Grace Hightower, have split. He shared in a statement,

“Grace and I have two beautiful children together. We are entering a period of transition in our relationship which is a difficult but constructive process.”

He continued,

“I honor Grace as a wonderful mother and ask for privacy and respect from all as we proceed to develop our roles as partners in parenting.”

Robert and Grace Hightower married in 1997. They split in 1999. However, the divorce was never finalized and in 2004 they renewed their vows. Prior to his marriage to Grace, he was married to his first wife, Diahnne Abbott, in 1976. They divorced in 1998.
