Drake Settles With Instagram Model Who Accused Him Of Raping And Impregnating Her
In 2017, a woman by the name of Layla Lace accused Drake of impregnating her and then refusing to call her back. She also accused the rapper of raping her during a one night stand. In 2018, Drake filed a lawsuit against the model in an effort to clear his name. In the suit, he claimed that Layla Lace was trying to extort him and that her lawyers demanded money from him to keep the allegations under wraps.
Drake met Layla Lace in Manchester, England while on tour in February 2017. According to Drake, the two had consensual sex at his hotel. However, a few months later, the model was insinuating that Drake had gotten her pregnant and later made false claims about sexual assault.
On Friday, November 30th, Drake filed paperwork that revealed the legal battle between him and Layla Lace had been resolved. His lawyer says:
The filing made by Drake against Layla Lace has been resolved, with Layla avoiding going to trial by agreeing to a stipulated judgment which prohibits her from repeating past statements she made against Drake.
According to the paperwork, Layla Lace agreed not to re-publish the April 2017 Instagram post in which she first claimed Drake impregnated her. She also agreed to make no more statements “alleging or insinuating” that Drake assaulted her, got her pregnant and abandoned her, or anything else along those lines.

This situation is really concerning, and it raises so many questions about accountability and the way we address allegations in the public eye. I hope both parties can find some form of resolution and that justice is served. It’s crucial that we continue to support survivors and have conversations about consent and empowerment.
