Ariana Grande released another single from her rumored upcoming album, “thank u, next.”
The “sweetener” singer dropped “imagine” on Friday (Dec. 14), and has teased fans in the coming days of the quietly looming track. She shared a countdown on Instagram, and tweeted about the premise of the song
…for those of you asking about imagine: I would say if ‘thank u, next’ = acceptance…’imagine’ = denial. hope that makes sense.

In the song, she challenges the possibility of two lovers being in love with each other, while reminiscing in the good times they had together. The track has reportedly already made it #1 on the US iTunes chart in less than an hour of it’s release.
Amidst the drama between Kanye and Drake, Grande attempted to cut through the distraction, as she stepped in to inform her followers and fans about her new single being released. She tweeted,
guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u

Just a week ago, the artist broke streaming and view records on music platforms and YouTube with the release of her teen movie themed video for her lead single “thank u, next.”
