Michelle Obama’s Mom Wasn’t Impressed By Her Grammy Moment, See Her Hilarious Texts!

Sure, we all know just how incredibly awesome our forever First Lady Michelle Obama really is, but her Mom, Marian apparently likes to keep her grounded and not blow her up too much. In a cute text thread shared by Obama, it shows just how unimpressed her mom was about her all-star moment at this year’s Grammy Awards.

During this year’s Grammy Awards, the opening segment featured Michelle Obama receiving a standing ovation, while flocked on stage with Alicia Keys, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez. It was one of the most empowering moments of the evening and definitely an overall show highlight. However, Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, was less than impressed with her star-studded moment, as revealed in a funny text thread Obama shared on her Instagram page.

The text thread shows Robinson telling her daughter,

“I guess you were a hit at the Grammys.”

Obama responds, asking her Mom, “did you watch it?” Robinson says she did, but is more concerned if her daughter met any “real stars.” A funny back and forth ensues with Obama telling her Mom that she is “a real star” and her Mom bluntly ends the conversation with “yeah.”
