R. Kelly Charged with 10 Counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse
Not so good news for R.Kelly fans. On Friday morning, the 52-year-old singer was reportedly charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Cook County. Sources claim that Cook County prosecutors will appear before a judge to sign off on an arrest warrant for Kelly.
His first court date is listed as March 8, according to records. His attorney, Steven Greenberg, said early that he had not heard that his client had been charged. Greenberg has said in the past that his client denies any wrongdoing.
Earlier this month, a grand jury convened to investigate an alleged sex tape that was provided by attorney Michael Avenatti. Avenatti stated that he uncovered a VHS tape which allegedly shows the artist of having sex with a girl who seems to be 14 — with both Kelly and the girl referring to her genitals and other body parts as being 14 years old.
On Thursday, two new women came forward claiming the singer had sex with one of them, who was 16 at the time.
