Lil Rel on Jess Hilarious Muslim Controversy: “I can only control me!”
Comedian Lil Rel wants fans to know that his friends’ views are not necessarily his. His friend/”Rel” castmate, Jess Hilarious, recently came under fire for her commentary of about two Sikh men wearing traditional Muslim head dress on her flight because they “scared her.” She could be seen making racial comments about the men before the flight.
@jess_hilarious you are racist af & sound so damn ignorant. The Sikh man was minding his business, is that what you felt THREATENED about?! #JessHilarious pic.twitter.com/b2DdZJYvU5

Lil Rel issued this vague statement on Instagram seemingly addressing Jess’ controversy. His caption read:
“As I leave Chicago I’m leaving with one thought and one thought only… I can only control the actions of one person and one person only and that person is me which is already a tuff job lol… Be kind. Show empathy and inform the misinformed…Anger solves nothing but empathy and correct information helps us understand each other… Have a dope week peeps!!! #GoodMorning”
Jess Hilarious later made a video, explaining that she wasn’t sorry for her comments. She said:
“Don’t play with me. If I’m scared, I’m scared, f**k ya’ll. F**k how ya’ll feel. Ya’ll mad at me ‘cause I don’t side with every other black person. ‘Cause I don’t side with every other race. F**k ya’ll. I felt how I feel, I felt threatened and that was it f**k ya’ll.”
Jess continued:
“And I’m not flying there. We were evacuated, b**ch. Why? Why? With no reason explained at all? No technical difficulties? Ya’’ll ‘gon listen to Jess with the Mess one day ‘cause my news is real. How ironic is it, that we boarded the same plane and I don’t see those people? Yeah, we’re fully boarded. Eat my a**.”
Do you agree with Lil Rel statement amidst Jess’ controversy? Let us know in the comments.
