Kris Jenner Says Kanye Disrespected Corey Gamble + Khloe & Kourtney Kardashian Defend Kanye
On the most recent episode of E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians, family matriarch Kris Jenner’s relationship was front and center, as her children (and son-in-law Kanye West) seriously questioned her relationship with long-time boyfriend Corey Gamble.
America’s favorite momager, Kris Jenner, 63, has been dating boyfriend Corey Gamble, 38, since 2015, following her split from Caitlyn Jenner. However, very little is known about Gamble’s life outside of the Kardashian-Jenner confines—and now her oldest daughters are questioning why his life is so mysterious…thanks to none other than Kanye West.
On the latest episode of KUWTK, it’s revealed that West sent Gamble a text message basically asking why he hasn’t ever brought any family members around and why the family doesn’t know who he really is. West’s wife, Kim, then admits that although his delivery was rude, West’s questions regarding Gamble are the same ones the she, along with sisters Khloe and Kourtney, also share.
Kim said:
“Kanye texts Corey something along the lines of, ‘Look, we don’t know you, we’ve never met any of your family members.’ Of course we’ve all felt that way and thought that, but for Kanye to just so bluntly say that to him — I feel like that was the wrong choice to make at that time.”
Khloe and Kourtney quickly jump to West’s defense, insisting that he’s very protective of the family:
Kourtney says:
“He is very paternal, though. He tries to take care of all us.”
Followed by Khloe stating:
“Kanye’s delivery wasn’t great, but the essence of what he said is true. Corey does tend to be pretty secretive and that does have me pretty guarded. … We don’t know Corey like that.”
Khloe continued later in the episode, adding:
“After my mom got her divorce, I was like, ‘Okay, this probably isn’t going to last.’ I just didn’t feel the need to get that connected or attached. Then when I saw time progressing and the relationship was still there, we tried to get to know him, but he has not been receptive in this whole thing.”
This leads Jenner to reveal that all the questioning surrounding Gamble hurts her feelings because he is such an important part of her life, treating her better than she’s ever been treated. She specifically calls out West, saying that she felt “disrespected” that he would question Gamble so bluntly.
Jenner had this to say:
“I just wish I knew why [Kanye] has to bring bad energy into the field at 6 o’clock in the morning. I would never disrespect somebody and say that.”
Things got even more awkward when Khloe and bestie Malika Haaq arrived at Jenner’s Palm Springs home expecting a girl’s weekend, but Gamble was there with her instead—causing the pair to leave early amidst the obvious tension.
Towards the end of the episode, Kim and Khloe sit down with Gamble and hash out their concerns, revealing that the reason they are so protective of Jenner is because their late father had people around him that pretended to be nice, but were actually doing shady things behind his back.
Khloe summed up her feelings to Gamble saying:
“We’re happy you make our mom happy. We just want to move forward and be in a good place.”
Kim got more in-depth, stating:
“Ultimately, we just want to protect my mom. She’s always going to be the most important thing to us so we are going to do what we can to just look out for her.”
Gamble admitted he understood and even said that he had no hard feelings towards West, pointing out that he was literally wearing West’s popular Yeezy sneakers during the conversation. Kim and Khloe also committed to trying to foster a better relationship with Gamble.
