Adrienne Bailon – “I Don’t Want To Be Beyonce! I Enjoy Being A D-list Celebrity!”
“The Real” host Adrienne Bailon has embraced the level of success she’s reached, and admits she has no plans to aim higher! Despite having a 20-year resume including hosting an Emmy-award winning show, singing in the girl groups 3LW and the Cheetah Girls, and acting – she calls herself a “D-list celebrity.” She says she wouldn’t trade her privacy for Beyonce-level fame:
“I just wanna be brutally honest – I really enjoy being a D-list celebrity. 100 percent. I get to live a private life when I wanna live a private life.
I don’t wanna be Beyonce…not that I think I could be, but I’m just saying, like…I like that I can go grocery shopping, have my moño in my hair and no one bothers me.’
Adrienne continued, admitting that she could work harder to have a rock-hard body, but chooses not to. She calls her curves “mediocre!”
“I don’t have the best body that I could have. Guess what, I’m also not laying on the ground at 4 o’clock in the morning doing 600 crunches. I choose to have a nice little mediocre body that walks me around just fine, let’s me do what I gotta do.”
But, the 35-year-old Latina explains there’s one area she doesn’t accept mediocrity – her family. Adrienne explained she wouldn’t want her husband, gospel music titan Israel Houghton, to call her a “mediocre wife.”
She said:
“If it was not my husband or my mother or my sister or the people whose opinions I value, I don’t care. I will not be mediocre when it comes to my personal life. I want to be a great wife, a great daughter, a great sister, and when I become a mother I am going to aim for greatness.”
