Cuba Gooding Jr.’s Lawyers Say Footage Shows His Innocence Against Woman Claiming He Groped Her Breasts, May Not Turn Himself In To NYPD
The plot is thickening in actor Cuba Gooding Jr.‘s recent accusations of groping a New York woman in a bar. He is maintaining his innocence, and his legal team says they have proof of it. Cuba’s attorney, Mark Heller, says that Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge’s surveillance video doesn’t show the “The People vs OJ Simpson” actor groping the 30-year-old woman’s breasts as she reported to police. He commented:
“[The footage shows] absolutely no criminality taking place on the part of my client.”
The unnamed woman says that Cuba Gooding Jr. was “highly intoxicated” at the bar on Sunday night (6/9/19), and grabbed her by the breasts. This spawned an argument that grew so heated that security broke the two of them up. She, alter, called the police and issued a complaint. The NYPD Special Victims Division wants the actor on forcible touching charges.
Cuba Gooding Jr. and his attorneys originally planned for him to turn himself into custody today (6/13/19) to be fingerprinted and photographed for a mugshot, but now that footage exists proving his innocence – the meeting may not take place.
Cuba Gooding Jr. and his attorneys have not commented as of yet on the scheduled arraignment.
