Apollo Nida Released From Prison Again, Back In Halfway House

Apollo Nida is a free man yet again. He was released from prison and returned to a halfway house in Philadelphia, according to documents from the Federal Bureau of Prison.

Nida was first released from Fort Dix Correctional Facility on June 4. But just over a week later, he was taken back into custody for allegedly violating the terms of his release. Nida was originally sentenced to eight years after he pleaded guilty to laundering more than $2.3 million via fake bank accounts, stolen checks and other avenues.

It’s still not clear how he violated his release, but his new fiance, Sherien Almufti, who he proposed to while in jail in 2016, denied any wrongdoing on his part. She said,

“They can’t stop us babe!!! For those who are confused @apollonida03 didn’t violate a godd*mn thing. Another crime against a black man in the system. Jealously is a disease and his PO will die mad!!”

While he’s a free man now, his first wife Phaedra Parks, and mother of his two sons expressed her disappointment when he was sent back to jail just before Father’s Day.

She stated,

‘There’s a box of Father’s Day cards, mugs, little plates and things that they’ve made that I was going to send him. And so my youngest son was like, “so daddy will be here for Father’s Day?”And I had explained to him, no. He couldn’t come anyway because he was in the halfway house transition home. But you know, they can’t talk to him at all now because he’s back in prison.”

“I was disappointed, but at the same time, I don’t know if I was that shocked because he is a risk taker and I just hate it because now it’s just above all of us, only Jesus can fix it. I can’t make him be what he doesn’t want to be. He has to want to change. Being a parent does not come with the manual. So I don’t think that there’s any perfect parents, but obviously when you have a parent that is absent, like my ex husband, it makes it very difficult because I am the sole provider. You know, a woman cannot really teach a young man how to be a man. And so that’s been the source of frustration for me.”
