LL Cool J and Wife Simone Smith Celebrate 24 Years of Marriage

Long-lasting relationships in the music industry are rare, and this couple has stood the test of time for well over two decades! Rapper/actor Todd “LL Cool J” Smith and his wife Simone Smith are celebrating 24 years of marriage this year!

They rang in their anniversary on a yacht in Portofino, Italy with four other notable Black Hollywood couples – Magic and Cookie Johnson, Kevin and Erika Liles, Frank and Nina Cooper, and Rodney and Holly Robinson Peete.

Simone took to Instagram to reflect on their beautiful 24 years of matrimony:

“@sislovespurple LORD you have been better than GOOD!! Today my husband @llcoolj and I, my soulmate and the man I loved since I was 17 years old celebrated 24 years of marriage in Italy on a yacht surrounded by other couples that have decades of marriage amongst them.”

She thanked their famous friends for celebrating their love with them:

“I couldn’t think of a better way to spend our anniversary, with other faith-filled married couples praying for our union, while the Lord our God continues to bless our union. @magicjohnson & @thecookiej thank you for hosting and sharing such an amazing vacation with us. You two are truly the best! Love you to the moon and back Thank you God for the first 24. Please continue to Bless us and let our love be an example to our children and grandchildren. AMEN??”

Over the years, LL Cool J and Simone Smith have weathered many storms together – one of them being her 2004 bone cancer diagnosis. This year, they spearheaded the American Cancer Society’s “Beat Cancer Like a Boss” campaign.

In 2013, Simone dished to Oprah Winfrey that she hates her husband’s hit song, “Doin’ It!” Ha!
