Faizon Love On Jay-Z’s Partnership With The NFL ‘When The F*** Did Jay-Z Become The Spokesman For All N***as?’
Fans and celebrities alike have had mixed reactions on Jay-Z partnering with the NFL for a social justice initiative. Jay-Z and his label, Roc Nation, will now help coordinate performances for NFL events like the Super Bowl halftime show.
But one person who isn’t a fan of Jay-Z’s new union is actor and comedian Faizon Love. He took to Instagram to share his very candid thoughts on the rapper’s latest move. He told Jay-Z,
“When the f*** did Jay-Z become the spokesman for n***as? All n***as. Is he serious? We over it when you get a new job n***a? Are you gonna split that check?”
He then called for Solange Knowles, Jay-Z’s sister-in-law who was seen beating up Jay-Z in an elevator back in 2014.
Love said,
“Activate Solange. Solange activate. How is it over when you say it’s over, n***a, really? That was a jigger move, not a jigga move, a jigger… house jigger.”
His video comes after Jay-Z responded to backlash about signing the deal. He addressed talks of former NFL star Colin Kaepernick, who was allegedly blackballed from the league after kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality in the nation. Jay-Z said,
“I think we’ve passed kneeling. I think it’s time to go into actionable items. I think everyone knows what the issue is, and we’re done with that.”
“We all know the issue now. Okay, next. Where are we moving on next? And I’m not… again, to be clear, for the room, I’m not minimizing that part of it. That has to happen. That’s a necessary part of the process. Now we all know what’s going on. What are we going to do? How are we going to stop? How are gonna stop? The kneeling wasn’t about a job, it was about injustice. Let me bring attention to injustice. Everyone’s saying, ‘How are you going forward and Kaep doesn’t have a job?’ This wasn’t about him having a job.”
