R. Kelly’s Lawyer: To Those Who Doubt Me & My Team, We Are 100% Dedicated To Winning Every Case!

It looks like R. Kelly’s lawyer is confident in their case. While R. Kelly faces child pornography, racketeering and obstruction of justice charges, the head of his legal team, Steve Greenberg, said they’re doing all they can to get R. Kelly acquitted.

He also defended R. Kelly after it was stated that he was a no-show in court last week.

He said in a statement,

“He’s in federal custody and it’s incumbent on the state to get him to Cook County… I can’t drive over in my Maserati and pick him up and they didn’t do it. They claimed he refused to come when nobody came to get him. What they said was just not true. It was the State’s Attorney lying to over up their own screw-up over the fact that they didn’t get him.”

Meanwhile, R. Kelly is allegedly looking for a new lawyer.

According to reports, he wants to hire Tom Mesereau, the same lawyer who represented Michael Jackson in his child molestation case. The late singer was acquitted in 2005. But because R. Kelly allegedly can’t afford him, he and his team are said to be asking people to help pay for it. And it might be a success as some of his celebrity friends are reportedly stepping in to help, but they’re doing it anonymously. R. Kelly’s fans are also offering to help the fees. His lawyer bill for Mesereau could be in the millions.

But even more, Kelly is allegedly getting pressured to fire Greenberg, who has said the entire ordeal is

“a complete load of crap.”
