Upon the release of Chance’s debut album in July, the record would go on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 charts. During his sit down with Ellen DeGeneres, Chance touched on recently welcoming a new baby into his family and the inspiration behind his charity work.
“My understanding of a lot of stuff is based on Jesus. Jesus teaches to care for your neighbor and people that aren’t neccessarily your blood. That’s an impactful thing I understood as I got older. My parents definitely instilled in me that when you see people in need, you don’t just want to pass them by.”

As previously reported, the new father of two took to social media to announce he will be putting his family first ahead of his upcoming tour. In his announcement he shared how he didn’t want to repeat what he calls “a mistake,” by leaving his family to hit the road,
“When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”
