Tyler Perry To Receive Hollywood Star On October 1st
Director Tyler Perry will officially join the likes of Hollywood’s most legendary talent next month as the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced on Wednesday (Sept. 25th) that the filmmaker, notable known for his Madea character, will be welcomed into the Walk of Fame on October 1st. The committee took to Twitter to reveal the news writing:
“Actor, director Tyler Perry to be honored with star on the Walk of Fame On October 1!”

Back in June, it was first announced that Perry along with Terrence Howard, Lupita Nyong’o, Cedric “The Entertainer,” and Alvin And The Chipmunks were all apart of the Walk of Fame class of 2019.
The chairman of Walk of Fame Selection Committee, Vin Di Bona said in a statement,
“I feel the Committee has outdone themselves and I know the fans, tourists and the Hollywood community will be pleased with our selections. We are excited to see each and every honoree’s face as they unveil that majestic star on Hollywood’s most famous walkway!”
Days after the monumental accomplishment was announced in June, Perry shared his thoughts during a bike right near the mountains were he pose the question of how much higher should you want to go?
“How high do you want to go? Higher is waiting.”

As previously reported, not only will the filmmakers name be displayed on the endless names of talent in Hollywood, Perry’s name was recently added to an updated highway sign just one mile away from his Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta.

The film mogul purchased the historic army base in 2016, and since then, the studio has continued to grow into one of the largest motion picture studios in the U.S.
Congratulations Tyler Perry!
