Lala Anthony Defends Husband Carmelo Anthony Against ESPN’s Max Kellerman – “He’s Been Rooting Against Him For Years”
Actress Lala Anthony took to Twitter over the weekend (Nov. 30th), to address ESPN’s First Take sports analysts, Max Kellerman for his previous comments on her NBA Hubby and newly signed Portland Trail Blazer, Carmelo Anthony. In a segment on First Take in May, Max Kellerman advised Melo to think about signing with an overseas team instead of the NBA.
“There are teams in China that should want Carmelo Anthony.”
Fast forward to November, Melo signed a non-guaranteed deal with Portland. As previously reported, Melo has already made history with his new team recently passing NBA player Alex English for 18th on the all-time NBA scoring list in his fourth game with the Blazers.
In response, Lala responded to a tweet which suggests that Kellerman should apologize to Melo. Lala responded to the tweet:
“He never will. He hates Melo. He’s been rooting against him for years. He counted him out a long time ago!”

Lala has continued to support Melo throughout his NBA hiatus. This past week (Nov. 26th), Lala held a Facetime call for Melo and his son, Kiyan, 12, during an intense timeout. After taking a peek over to his wife, Melo gave his son the cutest mid-timeout salute.
