Dr. Dre won the 2010s!
As we get ready to roll out 2020, Forbes has reported that Dr. Dre is the highest-earning musician of the decade.
While he only dropped one album in the last 10 years (Compton, which was released in 2015), it was his epic Beats By Dre business that gave him the ultimate payout of $950 million for the decade. Apple purchased the company for $3 billion in 2014.
Beyonce is ranked at number 3 with $685 million thanks to her successful businesses like Ivy Park, which recently partnered with Adidas. She also headlined four tours this decade: The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in 2013-2014, On The Run Tour in 2014, The Formation World Tour in 2016 and On The Run Tour II in 2018.
Sean “Diddy” Combs rounded out the top five after bringing in $605 million in the 2010s. One of his best cash cows is his Ciroc vodka brand, including a lucrative deal with Diageo.

Jay-Z might be Hip-Hop’s first billionaire, but he landed at #7 on the list with $560 million. He also headlined the On The Run II international tour with his wife.
