Issa Rae Announces The Return Date of ‘Insecure’ For Season 4 [VIDEO]

They’re back! The highly anticipated return of Issa Rae’s hit HBO series, “Insecure,” is set to make its return this spring. On Wednesday (Jan. 15), the Emmy-nominated creator took to her Instagram to drop the season 4 teaser, giving her signature rap freestyle in the mirror in various work attire. As she continues to hype herself up, she rips her knee high skirt after going down too low. She says in the clip,

“What you been eating?”

Then says,

“A** getting fat!”

She revealed in the caption that the show will be returning on April 12.

After dropping the gem via Instagram, Issa’s comments were taken over by several notable close friends and celebs who are fans of the HBO series.”Insecure” actor Sarunas Jackson, actress Kyla Pratt, and award-winning director Ava Duvernay all shared their excitement for Issa’s season 4 return. Actress Kerry Washington dubs the teaser with,

“Mirror b*tch GOALS”

As previously reported, ‘Insecure‘ is set to make its epic return with a few familiar reality star appearances for the upcoming season 4. Back in December, ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ stars, Kandi Burruss and Porsha Williams were spotted filming along with ‘Love and Hip-Hop,’ star, Ray J. 

In addition, they were also joined by actress Terri Vaughn of “The Steve Harvey Show” and Carl Anthony Payne of “Martin” and singer Sza was there too!

This season, Issa has opened the door for her on-camera boyfriend Lawrence, played by Jay Ellis to take on the role as director for the 7th episode. Shortly after the start of filming for their new season, he posted a snapshot on Instagram and revealed his new role behind the camera. Jay jokingly writes,

Me: “Action!”

Me: …. I forgot my line.

Me: CUT!… f**king actors!!!”
