Tommy Davidson Reveals He Nearly Fought Will Smith Over Jada: Will Went All Gangsta On Me!
Apparently Will Smith will flip over the red table when it comes to his wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Woo co-star, Tommy Davidson, nearly came to blows on the movie set.
Tommy Davidson opened up about the possible scuffle in his memoir, “Living In Color”, according to Page Six. The comedian says that he, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and the 1998 movie producers agreed to change the ending of the film, but Tommy didn’t discuss adding a kiss to the shot with his co-star. When he planted a kiss on Will Smith’s then-fiancée, she flinched. Tommy Davidson wrote:
“I didn’t know this: You have to rehearse a kiss. You can’t just spring it on your costar…And I didn’t think it was all that big of a deal.”

Will Smith immediately charged to Tommy’s trailer:
“Will went all gangsta on me, saying what I did was not cool. There was a moment there when we might have come to blows. My reactive fight-or-flight instinct was triggered and I could have exploded.”
Luckily, Jada was there to defuse the actors before punches were thrown. Davidson, now, says that the power couple has been friendly and supportive whenever they run into each other at industry events. The “In Living Color” star even credits Gam (Jada’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones) with assisting him on his sobriety journey.
