Vanessa Bryant Honors Kobe w/ The New Release of His Best-Selling Sports Fantasy Series [VIDEO]
The latest installment of Kobe Bryant’s New York Times best-selling sports fantasy series is back for kids ages 8-10 and Vanessa Bryant is using the special occasion to pay tribute to her late husband. The former Los Angeles Lakers legend and father of four daughters, embraced his role as a “girl dad,” while emphasizing the empowering the next generation of females.
On Tuesday (March 31st), the late Oscar-winning storyteller’s official Instagram account shared the news of his new book release with the help of his creative partner, author Wesley King. As the author of Kobe Bryant’s new series, King says he and the later superstar worked tirelessly before his untimely death.
“He was much more involved than people might imagine. There were many weeks where it was two, three, four phone calls a day, and 5,000 text messages. Kobe texted more than anyone in history of existence.
Vanessa Bryant also paid tribute to the book on her own Instagram.

King adds,
“He would call about something incredibly obscure, literally about what a guy [in the chapter] was wearing, like one sentence, and would be very laser-focused in on this.”
The author reportedly was scheduled to fly to L.A. to start on their next book project the day after Bryant’s death in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26. King also opened up on what he misses most about the former NBA superstar.
““Now I really wish I’d get a 4 a.m. text message telling me to make a blue wall red. I miss the passion of our conversations and his assured sense of ‘We’re going to change the world’ and ‘There’s nothing that’s going to stop us.’”

Most of all, King added that Kobe Byrant’s main goal was to inspire kids, even if it’s at least one child,
“It almost sounds cliché, but he’d say, ‘If one kid picks this book up and finds the faith in himself to persevere, we did our job … We’re doing this for that one kid.’ Kobe really believed that.”
The Wizenard: Series Season One is the follow-up to the Lakers legend’s New York Times Bestselling book The Wizenard Series: Training Camp, which tells the story of a young inspiring basketball player named Reggie who dreams that one day he’ll become a basketball legend.
As reported, Vanessa her three girls have continued to share their love for Kobe since his and daughter Gianna Bryant’s shocking passing. Back in mid-March, Vanessa along with their beautiful three girls, Natalie, 17, Bianka, 3, and Capri Bryant, 7 months posed in front of Bryant’s and Gianna Bryant’s mural in the Los Angeles area.

Rest in peace Kobe!
