Blue Ivy Carter Says “I Have This Little DIY Experiment” As She Demonstrates How Hand Washing Helps Fight Coronavirus [VIDEO]

Blue Ivy Carter is doing her part t make sure that we are keeping our hands clean during the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Saturday April 18, Jay-Z and Beyonce’s the 8-year-old daughter Blue Ivy created her own PSA about washing your hands to fight coronavirus COVID-19. Blue Ivy’s grandmother, Tina Lawson, shared the video on Instagram:

“My brilliant granddaughter Blue did this experiment to show how washing your hands fights the virus,”

Blue Ivy starts the video explaining her experiment:

“Hey, ya’ll, since we’re stuck at home, I have this little DIY experiment that you can do at home, too,” “…So, I have this mixture of a lot of different types of soap inside of this, and this is the coronavirus or any virus, it’s actually just pepper.”

Blue Ivy uses a bowl of water mixed with pepper to represent the coronavirus. Next, she dips her finger in soap and then dips her finger in the water. This causes the pepper to quickly move away from her finger:

“This is why it’s very important to wash your hands. If you wash your hands, your hands will stay clean, but if you keep your hands dirty, you might get sick”

This experiment is called The Water Surface Tension Experiment and has been regaining popularity online with videos of teachers and parents teaching children the importance of washing their hands, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.
