Kanye West Texted Media Outlet “No One At Forbes Knows How To Count” After They Shorted His Billionaire Status: It’s Not 1 Billion, It’s 3.3 Billion!
According to Forbes, rapper and mogul Kanye West is now a billionaire, but the rapper isn’t happy with how much the publication is saying he’s worth.
Forbes reported that Kanye West’s net worth is at $1.3 billion, but Kanye West said it shorted him $2 billion, and that he’s actually worth $3.3 billion. According to reports, he sent a text message to Senior Editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg, that read,
“It’s not a billion. It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”

This isn’t the first time Kanye West had an issue with Forbes’ calculation of his worth. Last year, when he was on the cover of Forbes, he was excited to discuss the business side of his career with his collaboration with Adidas on his Yeezy shoe brand. However, that happiness soon turned into frustration with the Forbes staff. According to Zack O’Malley Greenburg at Forbes,
“As the year wore on, he[Kanye] protested publicly. (“I showed them a $890 million receipt, and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire,’” he told an industry panel, about something that no one at Forbes remembers.) In private, he was more biting. (A “disrespectful article,” he texted this week, that was “purposely snubbing me.”)”

“When our annual billionaires list appeared earlier this month, again with West absent—still no documentation, and now a pandemic to boot—West again reacted with hurt and venom. “You know what you’re doing,” he texted. “You’re toying with me and I’m not finna lye [sic] down and take it anymore in Jesus name.” At one point, he texted that Forbes was “purposely a part of a group of media” that was trying to suppress his self-made narrative because of his race. That sister-in-law Kylie Jenner did make the list also clearly stuck in his craw.”

Greenburg went on to say that Kanye West’s team asked the Forbes staff again to calculate his assets to prove that Kanye is indeed a billionaire. The number they came up with is $1.3 billion
