Beyonce Says ‘Houston I Love Y’all’ As Her Hometown Gets Tested For COVID-19 + Tina Lawson Gets Emotional
Beyonce and her mom Tina Lawson showed love to Houston with a COVID-19 testing drive via her BeyGood organization’s #IDIDMYPART campaign. And it looks like the city is showing her love right back.
The “Formation” singer shared footage of cars lined up for testing and free resources and essential items. She wrote the caption Saturday (May 9),
“Seeing my hometown do their part and get tested today brought me so much joy. H-Town, I love y’all.”
Tina Lawson also couldn’t help but get emotional as she was shown footage of the testing drive.

The mother and daughter announced the drive earlier this week. Tina Lawson spoke on the importance of testing in the African-American community and said,
“The virus is wreaking havoc on the Black community so we need a movement to prioritize our health. We are all in this together. But we have to look at what is happening in our Black and Brown communities and how they are being decimated by COVID-19.”
