EXCLUSIVE: Tiny Harris Reacts To Kandi Burruss Announcing New Xscape Album

In the exclusive clip, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss revealed that her mother, Joyce Jones‘, “only wish” was for Xscape to reunite for another album. The moment, caught on camera, caught Kandi Burruss’ group mates off-guard. Kandi Burruss’s bestie, Tameka “Tiny” Harris is vocal about the announcement in the upcoming episode as she states,

“Recently, as Xscape was receiving the Black Music Honors award, Kandi’s mom told everybody her biggest wish was for Xscape to make more music. And after that, Kandi posted a video online and said that we were gonna do another album. That’s wild news to me and all the rest of the girls of Xscape, because before Kandi put that video out – she was 100% out of doing new music.”

Tiny Harris continued:

“Kandi put up this d*mn video about this new Xscape album. The truth of the matter is, there needs to be a little more conversation.”

As previously reported, Xscape reunited when news broke of their longtime producer, Jermaine Dupri, licensing their music for an unauthorized biopic. This spawned a BET Awards performance, a Bravo reality show, and a wildly successful reunion tour.

During the conversation, Tiny Harris’s husband – rapper/entrepreneur TI says that Kandi Burruss has the final say in official Xscape business. He said:

“How come don’t nothing happen unless Kandi say it can happen?…Kandi runnin’ the show.”

Tiny emphatically replied:

“That’s not the case…Kandi ain’t runnin’ sh*t.”

While promoting The Great Xscape Tour in 2017, Kandi made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with new music with the group. She told the Breakfast Club that she:

“…didn’t want to tarnish their legacy.”

So, in response, remaining members Tiny, Latocha Scott, and Tamika Scott released an EP as Xscap3 to signify that it was just the three of them.

Tiny admitted that she’s open to Kandi’s change of heart:

“We’ve been trying to make another Xscape album since 2017, and Kandi’s been holding out on us. So if she really has changed her mind, that’ll be good for business. And it’ll give the fans something they’ve been asking for, for a long time. So I wanna do whatever I can to see this really happen.”
