T.I.’s Daughter Deyjah Harris Breaks Down In Tears While Speaking Of Their Relationship: “He Always Plays Victim”

Deyjah Harris is speaking out about some of the effects in the after math of the story that went viral of her father, rapper, T.I., discussing Deyjah Harris’ virginity on a podcast where he said he takes yearly visits to the gynecologist with his daughter to ensure she still has her virginity and that her hymen is in place.

He later appeared on Red Table Talk with actress/host, Jada Pinkett Smith, to admit where he went wrong regarding his comments.

Not only did T.I. receive a lot of backlash for his comments, but according to his daughter Deyjah, it seems to be causing friction between the daughter-father duo.

In a recent episode of the family’s reality show, T.I. & Tiny: Friend & Family Hustle, Deyjah opens up about the widespread controversy surrounding her father’s comments about her virginity.

In a clip circulating on social media, Deyjah says,

“My dad even jokes with King about becoming a baby daddy. He would never joke like that with me.”

She continues in a conversation with two of her cousins.  One of the ladies says,

“I can’t imagine what it’s like being a celebrity kid though.”

She continued,

“Everything is being posted, everything is being discussed.  Now, you can’t even keep your sex life private.”

Deyjah responds,

“Exactly.”

When the ladies tried convincing Deyjah to have a conversation with her dad about the way she’s feeling, she says,

“He always plays victim, honestly.”

Deyjah also admits,

“I just don’t really care to be around him right now. I’ll be a better parent.  I mean, I’m not saying he’s a bad parent, I’m not saying that, but I’m just saying when it comes to stuff like this, like, I’m just gonna be more connected mentally, emotionally, all of that.”

When one of the ladies asks if this will strain her relationship with T.I., Deyjah breaks down and through her tears she says,

“I don’t know.”

After the controversy with her father, Deyjah deactivated her social media.  She’s also became vocal about her struggles with depression and anxiety and admits to being suicidal as a child.

On her Youtube page, Deyjah opened up saying,

“Transparently speaking, depression and anxiety is something that I’ve been dealing with since about the age of eleven. My self-esteem started to kind of become an issue for me in the sixth grade due to bullying…so without the proper knowledge and support, I eventually started to turn to self-inflicted coping mechanisms that weren’t too beneficial to me or my growth.”

She continued on past thoughts of not being here anymore.  She stated,

“There have been multiple times where I couldn’t really envision the evolution of myself, due to the fact that I just felt really unmotivated to continue my journey. And I also repeatedly had thoughts of me not being here anymore.”

Though rapper, T.I., has been in the forefront of protests, especially in the city of Atlanta where he resides, he has not offered any other remarks pertaining to this situation with his daughter.

Let’s hope that the two of them can work past their differences and begin to mend their relationship.
