Actress Marsai Martin Responds To Negative Comments Over Her Physical Appearance [VIDEO]
Marsai Martin may be young but she’s definitely not afraid to stand up for herself. The 15-year-old actress virtually announced the award for ‘Best Female Hip Hop Artist’ last night (June 28th) for the 2020 BET Awards show. During her brief presentation video, she was rocking a shoulder-length blonde wig, a white jean jacket with a mustard color dress underneath, and a pair of her signature glasses.

Following her feature on the Awards show some people took to twitter to negatively talk about the Black-ish star’s appearance.

Marsai Martin wasted no time in responding to the harsh things people had to say about her. She tweeted
“Sorry some of y’all don’t like my hair. Or teeth … which are my actual teeth btw. Good thing I don’t put my effort into trying to please everyone. I like it. Chile I’m 16 this year, let me live. I’m trying to stay sane in quarantine. Enjoy the #BETAwards”

In addition to her tweet, Marsai Martin posted a video to her Instagram account to troll the people who were teasing her online. In the video, the teen movie producer is fake crying as she speaks to her haters.
“So I was on Twitter and a lot of people had been addressing my hair – were talking about my hair and how it looks like a grandma’s wig – and I don’t. And they’re talking about my veneers and [my retainer] doesn’t look like a veneer to me. And it’s hard it’s difficult to run through my mind. But I’m sorry to anyone that I offended or haven’t gotten to your expectations about how I’m supposed to be and I apologize. I never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or have anyone worried about what my decisions are.”
Before she continues on with what she’s saying Marsai Martin pauses and takes a second to blow her nose and wipe away her ‘tears’ with a 100 dollar bill.

She then looks directly into the camera and says
“Ya’ll we are in quarantine and we got more things to focus on than just my hair. Justice for Breonna Taylor.”

This isn’t the first time that Marsai Martin took the time to address someone coming for her looks. In 2017 she posted a now-deleted photo showing off her braids and a fan commented on the image telling the then 13-year-old to “lay your edges.”

Marsai Martin responded to their comment and said
“I don’t have to. I like my hair kinks coils naps and all.”
