Will Smith Denies Giving Wife Jada Pinkett-Smith Permission To Have Alleged Affair With August Alsina

Update #3 (July 1): Will Smith is now speaking out, via his rep, addressing reports regarding his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and singer August Alsina. According to reports, he has denied that he ever gave his wife permission to have an affair. His reps say that the accusations are

“wrong”.

Update #2 (July 1): A rep for Jada Pinkett Smith has denied August Alsina’s account of what allegedly happened between them. While the singer said he received the okay from Jada Pinkett Smith’s husband, Will Smith, for their alleged relationship, the rep tells Page Six that his claims are

“absolutely not true!”

 Original Story: August Alsina is addressing his rumored relationship with Jada Pinkett-Smith. In an interview with Angela Yee, the 27-year-old singer seemingly admits to having a romantic relationship with the 48-year-old actress that is married to Will Smith. Referring to Jada, Will and their family he says:

I love those people like my family. I don’t ever have bad thing to say about them. They are beautiful people.

During the conversation, he admits that his heart space was blocked:

I don’t really have a choice but to express my truth.

He says that at one point, he had a conversation with Will Smith about the situation.

I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation, due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership – that they’ve spoken on several times. And it not involving romanticism – He gave me his blessing – I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life.

He continues,

And I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her.

He says,

I devoted myself to it. So much so that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to someone. I really loved a person….

When asked if its disappointing that Jada never addressed their situation. He says,

I really can’t even, I never even can get into the thought of that because I’m only responsible for myself, right? I’m only responsible for what I do.

Rumors that the pair dated began in 2016, when he was spotted vacationing with their family.

Here’s a photo circa 2017, of August posting with Jada’s mother.

In 2018, he appeared on her talk show, explaining how she helped him battle addiction. At the time, he stated:

I was on tour or something and you called me and you literally broke down about it. That was the thing. To feel your emotion and to hear you bawling. That was a reality check for me. I was like, ‘Wow, if someone else can love you that much that it hurts them, why doesn’t it bother you that you are actually hurting yourself?’ That moment really changed the trajectory of my life.

In 2019, he released a track called “Nunya”, which had some speculating that it was about Jada. On the track, he sang:

“The time I invested, you can’t give it back. You can’t get mad at the way I react. You had me feeling it was just as an act. YOU’RE JUST AN ACTRESS!! Putting on a show.”

Jada and Will married in 1997 and have two adult children together.
