Rick Ross Expands Wingstop Franchise, Opens New Location [PHOTOS]

The self-proclaimed “Biggest Boss” Rick Ross is continuing to expand his entrepreneurial reach with the grand opening of his latest WingStop location in his own Mississippi hometown. The rapper and entrepreneur currently owns over a dozen WingStop locations in the Southeastearn United States and his newest location is right in the heart of Clarksdale, Mississippi where William Leonard Roberts II a.k.a. Rick Ross, was born.

Despite the pandemic, a significant crowd of onlookers including the mayor of Clarksdale Chuck Espy, were in attendance Friday (July 3) afternoon to celebrate the opening and to watch Rick Ross cut a red ribbon stretched across the front door of the new restaurant. He posted a series of photos on his official Instagram celebrating the opening.

In the caption, Rick mentioned how opening a business at this time is quite difficult and he also thanked those who helped him to do so:

Opening a business is hard enough but to do it during a pandemic is a true definition of hustle.
As a BLACK ENTREPRENEUR now is the time more than ever to show courage and inspire the next generation of BLACK BUSINESS OWNERS.
With great risk comes great reward.
I want to thank the city of CLARKSDALE,MISSISSIPPI ,mayor CHUCK ESPY,DEE BROWN,JON LEVINGSTON and CHARLES JONES.

Rick is known as the founder of Maybach Music Group that he started in 2009 and is a platinum recording artist who became well-known after the 2006 release of his hit song “Hustlin.'” Though he was born in Clarksdale, he was raised in South Florida and attended Albany State University in South Georgia. His meteoric rise in the rap game was due in part to his multi-million dollar deal with Def Jam Records as well as his first two albums, “Port of Miami” and “Trilla,” debuted in top spots on the Billboard 200 charts.
The “Gold Roses” rapper has always talked (and rapped) about his love for WingStop’s lemon pepper wings. As a result, he set his sights on becoming an entrepreneur when he opened his first WingStop location in 2011 in Memphis, Tennessee. He now owns locations in a number of cities including Montgomery, Alabama, Macon, Georgia, and Decatur, Georgia.
Congratulations to Rick Ross on the opening of another WingStop location!
