New York City Mayor, Bill de Blasio announced last month that there were plans to paint “Black Lives Matter” outside President Donald Trump’s property, which reportedly has long been a site of anti-Trump protest.
It looks as though the plans are manifesting as the N.Y.C. Department of Transportation has blocked off 5th Ave between 56th and 57th streets so that the ‘Black Lives Matter’ mural project can begin.
The Mayor previously made a statement on the significance of the location and said,
“Painting ‘Black Lives Matter’ outside his home is a message to him that Black lives, in fact, do matter.”
He continued saying,
“In fact, that Black people built New York City, that they’ve never been compensated for all they did; that all the mistakes, the sins, everything in American history that has afflicted Black people have not been accounted for and must be accounted for — something he does not understand.”

President Donald Trump made his dislike with the plans known by making a statement on Twitter last month, writing that the art installation would be
“denigrating this luxury Avenue.”
He also stated that a ‘Black Lives Matter‘ mural would be a
“symbol of hate.”

Still, the plans are to continue as workers are seen in a video blocking off traffic in the busy city.

The Mayor responded to the President stating in part,
“Here’s what you don’t understand:
“Black people BUILT 5th Ave ans so much of this nation. Your “luxury” came from THEIR labor.”
