Big Sean Slammed Over ‘IDFWU’ Song Following Naya Rivera’s Death
Big Sean is receiving backlash from his 2014 hit “IDFWU” that he wrote stemming from his breakup from Naya Rivera, earlier that year.
As previously reported, the body of Glee actress Naya Rivera was found yesterday (July 13th) in California’s Lake Piru, after she went missing six days ago.
Naya Rivera and Big Sean met on Twitter through DMs and began dating in April of 2013. Six months later, the pair got engaged in October, and their relationship came to an abrupt end in April 2014.

“I wrote the last verse and [the line] ‘and everyday I wake up celebrating sh*t, why? ‘Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy b*tch,’”
Just hours after her tragic death and nearly six years after the song’s release, some social media users have slammed the rapper for making the song about the actress. They took to his latest Instagram post, which was shared more than a month ago, to leave comments.
Other fans hopped in the comments to defend him.
Big Sean hasn’t made a comment about the death of his ex-fiancé, but his current girlfriend, Jhene Aiko, sent an R.I.P. message on Twitter in loving memory of the singer, actress, and mom,
While some fans are now upset about the song, Naya Rivera once put her own spin on the diss during her appearance on Lip Sync Battle:
