Kanye West’s Lawyers Want Mickey Mouse & Bernie Sanders Signatures To Be Proven Fake Before They’re Removed From His Nomination Docs
Kanye West’s lawyers want questionable signatures to be proven fake before they’re removed from the nomination papers needed to qualify him for the presidential ballot. According to reports, some of the signatures that rapper Kanye West turned in in order to be on the presidential ballot in Wisconsin are under question. The 43-year-old designer reportedly received signatures from Mickey Mouse, former Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, and two from Kanye West himself.
The complaint filed against the legitimacy of Kanye West’s signatures seeks to remove close to 300 signatures from his nomination papers due to them missing the correct identifying information. According to the complaint filed,
“Several signatories signed the nomination papers with obviously fake names. It is impossible to verify whether someone who provides a fake name is an elector who is eligible to sign a candidate’s nomination papers. Therefore, all such signatures must be stricken.”
However, attorneys for Kanye West feel otherwise. According to them, it’s not Kanye’s job to prove if the signatures are real or not.
“A complainant cannot simply raise an issue, with little or no evidence, and shift the burden to the candidate to prove validity–which is what Complainant attempts to do here. As such, and purported challenges, with little or no supporting evidence, should be dismissed.”
They added:
“People of color have long been marginalized in this country. In seeking to remove Kanye West from the ballot and silence the voices of those who signed to place him, the Complainants are continuing this marginalisation simply because Mr. West’s views and perspectives on issues do not conform with theirs and those of the party they represent.”
It was also recently reported that Kanye West could be removed from the ballot in his home state of Illinois and face an election-fraud investigation due to the same reason. According to reports, more than half of the 3,128 signatures that were turned in for Kanye to be on the ballot were invalid.
It’s been speculated that Kanye West isn’t taking his campaign seriously because he’s allegedly running as an attempt to hurt Joe Biden’s campaign. According to reports, Kanye West met with Jared Kushner, who is President Donald Trump’s son in law and White House adviser. Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump was also said to have been in attendance.
Kanye West seemingly confirmed the meeting took place and tweeted,
“I’m willing to do a live interview with the New York Time about my meeting with Jared where we discussed Dr Claude Anderson’s book Powernomics”
