Brandy’s TV Mom Thea Vidale Says She’s ‘Rooting For Monica’ In Verzuz Battle: I Will Always Disagree W/ Brandy’s & Her Mama’s Disrespect!

The long-awaited Verzuz battle between R&B legends Monica and Brandy is just hours away, and many have unapologetically picked sides.

Brandy’s  former TV mom from ’90s sitcom “Thea”, Thea Vidale joined the conversation as she appeared to declare on Twitter:

“Let’s go— I’m rooting for Monica!”

She then explained:

“I’m tired of people coming at me sideways about Brandy … I never said she wasn’t talented. I do and will always fundamentally disagree with her and her mama’s disrespect while we worked together on my sitcom. And I stand by that sh*t.”

“Thea” was a comedic show about a widowed mother taking care of her four kids. It premiered in 1993 and ended in 1994 after one season.

Thea Vidale continued:

“YOUR FAVORITES CAN BE WRONG SOMETIMES…. STOP BEING SELECTIVE ABOUT THAT, JUST BECAUSE YOU LIKE A CELBRITIES WORK ! ! WE ARE ALL HUMANS WHO DO SH*T THAT WE NEED TO BE CHECKED ABOUT SOMETIME!!!”

She seemed to agree with a Twitter user who said Brandy has a reputation for having a “nasty attitude.” She listed some of Brandy’s previous co-stars and wrote:

“Sheryl Lee Ralph… Adina Howard…. Countess Vaughn and more. I still wish her THE BEST”

Interestingly enough, her Twitter page appears to have since been deleted.

Brandy and Monica are scheduled to battle tonight (Aug. 31st) at 5PM PT / 8PMET.
